     Analysis

Most decision makers are drowning in information.

Unfortunately much of that information is junk. It's old, it's untrue, it's exaggerated. And its meaning is uncertain.

Few statistics about the internet, for example, are consistent. (Variations of 50% to 100% are common). And many people have little sense of the way things are evolving. Globalisation means that much Australian legal and business development is driven by what's happening overseas, so if you are familiar with changes in the EU and North America you can often predict what will happen here.

section marker     how we help you

We don't offer a crystal ball. We don't offer detailed econometric forecasting (gypsies are cheaper than economists and often just as accurate). But if you need independent evaluations we can assist you.

We've helped some clients by pulling the needle out of their information haystack. That's one skill that comes from experience.

We've helped other clients by evaluating proposals that they've been given. If you're busy and you don't have the background it's often hard to judge - do you rely on the glibness of the vendor, the quality of his suit, the number of buzzwords per page?

A recent project for a government client consisted largely of helping them to stand back from the hype and, by evaluating similar projects overseas, get a sense for what works and particular potholes.

As with our research, while we understand the magic languages used by lawyers, technologists, marketers and public servants we communicate with you in the way that best meets your needs. Funky briefings? No problem. Detailed formal reports with more citations than you've had hot breakfasts? It depends on what you want.

We pride ourselves on our independence - one reason there's an affiliations page on this site - so you're not getting recycled solutions from software vendors. We're a bit iconoclastic, as our guides suggest. 'Different' is good if it produces a better answer to your questions.
