Book history is now going online and the following sites may be of interest as we add to this briefing in coming weeks:

The Society for the History of Authorship, Reading & Publishing (SHARP) at the University of Indiana is the pre-eminent centre, with a large range of pointers to academic research, archives and other information.

The Australian Defence Force Academy hosts the History of the Book in Australia (HBA) site.

The UK Centre for the History of the Book (CHB) is more comprehensive than the rival Book Information Website (BIW) and the anaemic Center For the Book (cfbook) at the Library of Congress.

Cambridge University Press is currently releasing a multi-volume History of the Book In Britain and a separate series on A History of the Book in America.

In Australia the University of Queensland Press will shortly publish the first of three volumes of A History of the Book in Australia.
